Born and raised in the small town of Abingdon, Illinois, Jo relocated to the stunning landscapes of Southwest Florida in 2013. Art was always a cherished hobby, a passion that she indulged in whenever time allowed. However, the demands of a corporate career and the hustle of everyday life eventually caused her to lose touch with her creative side, and with it, a significant part of herself seemed to fade away.
Those closest to Jo noticed the void that the absence of art left in her life, none more so than her mother, who often sat quietly, watching her paint and draw. In the days leading up to her mother’s passing, she offered Jo a simple yet profound piece of advice: “JoJo, do art.” These words stayed with her, and after her mother’s death, Jo took a much-needed sabbatical from her corporate job and picked up her paintbrush again. This act of returning to art reignited a spark within her, awakening her soul and reviving her passion.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Jo is now dedicated to sharing her world through her artwork. Her journey back to creativity has been one of rediscovery and healing, allowing her to see the world once more through the vibrant lens of an artist. She invites others to experience this perspective, to see the beauty and emotion she captures in each brushstroke.
